Accessory Dwelling Unit Kits
The central mission of Fireside Lumber & Sawmill is to divert logs from the waste stream in order to build more affordable homes. Accessory Dwelling Units and Tiny Homes provide us with an opportunity to fully leverage our milling capacity and local log supply.
Lumber For Fast-Track A.D.U.s
When the city of Raleigh fast-tracked a number of A.D.U. designs, they chose some great designs by local architect Heather Ferrell. As an initial offering, we hope to offer lumber cutlists based on Raleigh’s fast-tracked ADU designs, including those by Heather Ferrell which can be found here.
Fireside 12x12 Studio
The benefit of the Fireside 12x12 studio is that it falls under the zoning requirements for a building permit. Because it is a studio, not a home, and not connected to essential services (plumbing, HVAC, and electric), homeowners can buy and construct the kits with only the need to check with Environmental Health for site terms.
Fireside 12x20 A.D.U.
The Fireside Cabin is a stream-lined design that maximizes livable space and ease of construction. With post-and-beam elements, and a front porch, the cabin can be a sweet Mother-in-Law suite, rental property, or primary home for a reasonable price point.
